How this setup adapts to different vans

Start with the roof system you already have

The surfboard rack concept stays the same; the way it meets the van changes with the roof system.

• Standard roof crossbars: the surfboard rack can often mount in its normal intended configuration, with pads and securement.
• Roof, awning or accessory rails: a compatible bracket can bridge the rail and the surfboard rack, as ours did.
• Aftermarket roof-rack platforms: use the platform’s intended crossbar or accessory connection, then add the surfboard rack.
• No base rack yet: add an appropriate engineered base rack system first, then build the surfboard-rack layer on top.

Fit still depends on your vehicle, rack, and mounting hardware. Check the manufacturer ratings and fit before you install anything.
