A sink that works like a sink

Tiny sinks save space on a drawing but make washing pans, cleaning pots, and holding dirty dishes harder. Our relatively large sink behaves more like a normal home sink, and we would absolutely choose it again.

Recover the counter when the sink is idle

Our sink came with a cutting-board insert. The sink takes counter area while we use it; the insert gives some of that workspace back when we do not. Multifunctional surfaces are extremely valuable in a small kitchen.

• Check bowl size and depth against the things you wash.
• Leave faucet clearance above and plumbing room below.
• Plan the drain location and future removal.
• Protect every countertop edge around the opening.
