Electrical integration
Current path
At roughly 65 A, battery/BMS, source fuse, disconnect, busbar, wire, connectors and A/C terminals must allhandle continuous current and startup/transient behavior.
Voltage drop
Measure voltage at the battery/bus and at the A/C under full load. The difference is lost in cable/connectionsand becomes heat. Use full round-trip length and temperature/installation derating.
Protection
Fuse to protect the conductor while meeting the A/C maker's specified value and fault-interrupt requirements.Place protection at the source before the wire can short to vehicle metal.
Low voltage
Configure A/C cutoff and battery reserve so cooling does not repeatedly slam the BMS off. A BMS disconnect is not a normal thermostat or pet-safety control.
System rule
Do not judge a cooling upgrade at the vent. Judge it by the hottest occupied zone, humidity, energy usedand whether the system can recover that energy safely.
