A/C placement and airflow design

Map supply and return

Draw the cold supply jet, fan path, warm return path and obstructions. Beds, curtains, upper cabinets and openbathroom doors can create recirculation pockets.

Front vs rear

Rear-door placement serves sleep well and simplifies our retrofit. A central/roof location may distribute betterbut consumes roof space and changes structure, condensate, noise and service access.

Condenser separation

The outdoor side must see fresh ambient air and discharge hot air away. Any hot-air recirculation raisescondensing temperature, current and shutdown risk.

Serviceability

Keep filters, coils, drains, fans, fasteners, electrical terminals and refrigerant service points reachable. Abeautiful boxed-in unit that cannot be cleaned will lose capacity.

System rule

Do not judge a cooling upgrade at the vent. Judge it by the hottest occupied zone, humidity, energy usedand whether the system can recover that energy safely.
