Weekend
Portable/10-15 gal tank -> pump -> cold sink; removable grey jug; optional countertop drinking filter. Few connections, easy drain.
Full-time shower
25-40 gal vented tank -> isolation/strainer/pump/accumulator -> cold manifold -> heater -> hot manifold -> sink/shower; point-of-use drinking treatment; vented grey tank.
Cold-weather
All supply equipment inside conditioned envelope; exterior fill isolated/drainable; heated/protected grey tank; low-point drains, heater bypass and temperature sensors.
International
Multiple fill adapters and jug-transfer pump; sediment prefilter; protected tank; point-of-use certified multi-barrier treatment with UV where validated; bottled/boiled fallback; consumable spares.
Build rule
If you cannot reach it, isolate it, drain it and explain its pressure/temperature or water-quality job, it is not ready to hide behind a wall.
