Fit is only the first question

It is easy to obsess over the fridge model, countertop, sink, oven, and finishes. Those decisions matter, and most of ours worked. But the recurring problems did not come from the expensive appliances. They came from the direction one drawer opens and whether two surfaces had about one more inch between them.

Do not only ask whether everything fits. Ask what happens when every drawer is full, every door is open, and the driver suddenly has to brake.
