Budget tiers

Modest LFP bank, 200-400 W solar, DC-DC, small inverter, safe distribution and monitor. Pricing varies heavily by country and excludes labor; use as a planning band only.

Mid-range: roughly $4,000-$8,000

Larger bank, 400-800 W solar, 2-3 kW inverter/charger, stronger alternator charging, premium distribution and integrated monitoring.

Premium: roughly $9,000-$20,000+

5-15 kWh storage, 24/48 V architecture, large inverter/charger, high solar/alternator input, redundancy, automation and professional engineering/installation.

Spend here

Battery protection, wire/lugs, disconnects, busbars, power electronics, mounting, test tools and qualified AC review. These are safety and reliability items.

Save here

Avoid oversized inverter/battery based on fear. Stage optional portable solar, fancy displays and automation later. Never save by using counterfeit connectors, undersized cable or unknown breakers.

Rule of thumb

If you cannot state the expected current, full conductor length, protection rating and manufacturer limit for a circuit, the circuit is not ready to build.
