Manifold vs trunk

A manifold gives individual shutoffs and few hidden tees but uses more pipe. Trunk-and-branch is compact but one repair can disable more fixtures. Daisy chains are simple but increase interaction between fixtures.

Valves and drains

Provide isolation at tank, pump, heater, filters and vulnerable exterior fixtures. Add low-point drains where gravity can actually empty the line and a heater bypass for winterization/service.

Routing

Keep water below/away from electrical gear where practical. Protect every metal pass-through, avoid screw zones and exhaust heat, support line without crushing it, and allow movement at pump/heater.

Avoid dead legs

Remove abandoned branches; keep infrequently used outlets short and flush them. Photograph hidden runs and keep joints in access panels. Every inaccessible fitting is a future demolition project.

Build rule

If you cannot reach it, isolate it, drain it and explain its pressure/temperature or water-quality job, it is not ready to hide behind a wall.
