Chapter 09
What we learned after using it
What held up for us
At the time of filming, the rack had survived thousands of miles—including highway driving, rough and dirt roads, and speed bumps—without movement.
Keep inspecting
Continue checking bolts, brackets, straps, padding, corrosion or wear, and the rail attachment. The brackets were the key to adapting generic bars to our rail and remain part of the setup worth keeping an eye on.
Protecting a board while traveling
If your travel and storage conditions make board protection useful, a travel bag can reduce scuffs and dings when the board is off the rack or being moved around camp. Choose protection that works with your board and securement plan.
