The plywood platform
A two-piece, ½-inch platform that helps the whole bed act as one structure.
What we did
We installed ½-inch plywood over the three metal beams. The platform is built in two sections. Once attached, it tied the adjustable beams together and removed the movement and noise we had noticed while the beams were bare.
Why panel size deserves thought
As a general design principle, two manageable panels can be easier to bring into a van, position, remove, and work around than one enormous sheet. Decide panel joints and service access as part of your own support layout rather than assuming our split works for yours.
