| BMS | Battery management system. |
| Bond | Intentional electrical connection between conductive parts. |
| Busbar | Common high-current connection point. |
| Class T | Fast, high-interrupt DC fuse family often used with lithium/inverters. |
| DoD | Depth of discharge. |
| GFCI/RCD | Shock-protection device that detects current imbalance/leakage. |
| Isc | Solar panel short-circuit current. |
| kWh | 1,000 watt-hours of energy. |
| MPPT | Controller that tracks panel maximum power and charges batteries. |
| Neutral | Grounded AC circuit conductor; not the same as equipment ground. |
| Shunt | Precision resistor used to measure battery current. |
| SOC | State of charge. |
| Surge | Short-duration power/current above continuous level. |
| Voc | Solar open-circuit voltage; rises in cold conditions. |
| Voltage drop | Voltage lost through resistance under current. |
